Understanding How The Laws Encourage Violence

5500+ Indigenous women and girls go missing or murdered every year. We need to change the federal, state and local laws that govern Tribes because they allow violence on Indigenous people.

Understanding the history of the creations of the laws and how they affect the people is important for productive and appropriate change.

I brought the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) epidemic to Nonviolence International NY’s attention, and we created a campaign and an awareness video around its origins for the MMIW movement.

I helped lead interns with this project and was responsible for the research, blogs, script and screenwriting, production as well as informational graphics featured in the video, and across the campaign.
